IxD — Leadership + Wireframing

While listening to Donna Lichaw, I agreed with her on many of her points. I think products should fit into and enhance a user’s personal story. Products should be designed to work for people, therefore they should be presented in a way based on that goal. I also agree with her points on leadership. Leadership should involve making the people you are leading feel like the heroes in their own stories. Gathering tangible evidence in order to see a big picture is also important, rather than jumping to conclusions. The theme of storytelling in her talking points was effective.

While wire-framing my website, I focused on presenting important elements at the top of the page. Namely, allowing the user to file a report on a man who has not kept his marriage promise to a woman. The website design, thanks to the wireframe, now feels as though it has room to balance a classy, lover feel with subtle jester elements. The simple layer-cake design feels streamlined, and following the typical process of wire-framing before designing is what led me to make that design decision. I definitely feel the power of wire-framing.
